High Tatras
Vysoké Tatry – skialpinistka
The High Tatras are a favorite spot for many when it comes to outdoor recreation. This is true especially in winter thanks to its ski resort. At the moment skiing in High Tatras is forbidden because of coronavirus. That doesn´t mean however that people don´t come here anyway .
Before restrictions of free movement entered into force, we went there to do skialpinism. We even brought snowshoes. Terrain was just pure ice in some places. There were many skiers, but the width of a slope allowed to keep a safe distance. There was not a single regulation broken, as staying in the nature for recreation and sport was not forbidden. Down in a parking lot, food was being served through the window of a refreshment booth.
The day after our trip media was full of reports about irresponsibility of people, that can´t just stay at home and put others in danger. That was back in time, when only around 50 people went down with coronavirus per day. Several weeks later those same reporters were lobbying for walks in nature as an effective way of improving immunity.
Every time we plan to spend a day in mountains we make sure to have a one day insurance through text message.
Even a small injury can come at a high price in the mountain enviroment. The usual public health insurance or travel insurance won´t cover the costs of Mountain rescue service related to the search and rescue operations.

Vysoké Tatry sú obľúbené najmä v zimnej sezóne vďaka lyžiarskemu stredisku.
Momentálne je oficiálne zatvorené kvôli koronavírusu.
To však neznamená, že sa nevyužíva na športové účely.
Ešte pred obmedzením pohybu v rámci okresu sme tam boli na skialpinistiku. Mali sme so sebou aj snežnice.
Terén bol miestami zľadovatený. Lyžiarov bolo síce veľa, ale šírka zjazdovky poskytovala dostatok priestoru na bezpečné rozostupy.
Nebol porušený žiaden zákaz, keďže pobyt v prírode a šport boli dovolené.
Dole na parkovisku sa cez okienko predávalo občerstvenie.
Deň po našom výlete sa v správach písalo a hovorilo o nezodpovednosti ľudí, ktorí nevedia obsedieť doma a ohrozujú zdravie. To bolo v čase, keď bolo denne 50 nakazených.
O niekoľko týždňov tí istí novinári odporúčali prechádzky v prírode ako spôsob otuženia proti koronavírusu a vlna kritiky voči skialpinistom na istý čas povolila.
Vždy keď ideme do hôr vybavujeme si jednodňové SMS poistenie.
Aj malý úraz Vás v horskom prostredí môže vyjsť veľmi draho.
Klasické verejné zdravotné či cestovné poistenie totiž často nepokrýva náklady Horskej záchrannej služby spojené s výkonom záchrannej činnosti alebo s pátraním.
